About Us

Homeschooling Supplies is run by Frank and Valerie Marett. We have six children and have homeschooled for twenty years. Our supplies are a collection of high quality, attractive, Australian books that are self-instructional, if used in the right order. We provide the core subjects of phonics, maths, english, spelling, society and environment (HSIE), and science. We also have a variety of art, craft and various electives and literacy for all levels.

We carry a large range of books because children are different and children need books individually chosen for them. We are experienced in helping both the bright child and the slow learner.

It is recommended that children be tested before using the material so that they can be placed at a point where they can succeed. Once your child has been tested we are available to assist you in selecting books that will suit your child's individual needs.

Books costs approximately $300 per year for primary school and $350 per year for secondary school per child. Some of the secondary books are reusable.

Our advice is free and we are able to offer a year ten certificate should you require it.

 

 

 

Tests

We test on the last year completed. The two subjects we need to test for are maths and language. This is because these subjects are sequential, i.e., they build on previous knowledge. Subjects such as science, history, social studies and geography are more topic based and are selected according to the child’s comprehension level.

For level one maths and English are tested with “Test Your Maths K-1” and “Test Your English K-1”. For level two maths and English are tested with “Test Your Maths 2” and “Test Your English 2”. The two books cost $22.90 including postage and handling.

For the higher levels the two subjects are covered in the one book in the “Language & Maths” series. The cost is $11.95 including postage and handling.
